Dr Vishwambhar Nath is regarded as one of the finest Urologists and trainer of Urologists in India. He received his medical training and postgraduate training in both Surgery and Urology at the prestigious Christian Medical College, Vellore. He then also trained at the Freeman Hospital, Newcastle upon Tyne in UK and is one of the very few Indian urologists to be awarded the Specialist Registration in Urology with the General Medical Council, UK.
He was Professor of Urology at Vellore before moving to Mafraq Hospital, Abu Dhabi in 1997, whereas Consultant Urologist he helped establish the subspecialties of endo-urology, uro-oncology and clinical urodynamics, and was in-charge of the country-wide kidney transplant program. From there he moved back to UK and was Consultant Urologist at Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge University, with main commitments in bladder cancer, bladder dysfunction and post-graduate training, before returning to India last year.
Prof. Nath has a long track record in academic and clinical urology, has published widely, been invited faculty at various national and international meetings and served with distinction on the Editorial Board of Indian Journal of Urology. His present areas of expertise and special interest are Minimally Invasive Treatments of Kidney Stones, Medical & Surgical Treatments for Prostate and related Urinary Problems, and Early Detection and Treatment of Cancers of the Urinary System.
He is at present the Chief of Urology and Clinical Director.
